Little Giant Ladder system is a superior climbing system that can work for home and professional use. This ladder system company has been proven to be the leader in manufacturing articulating ladders. The innovation of Little Giant Ladder system has redefined the centuries-old traditional step ladder.

Little Giant Ladder system has kept its focus on expanding their climbing product line that will include unique features for safety, stability and ease of use. Their continuous search to change conventional industrial ladder system ideas made them successful in creating innovative product lines catering to both homeowners and professionals.

With a lot of emerging ladder systems in the market you would probably ask why invest in Little Giant Ladder System? Here are major reasons why this ladder system will work best for you:

Efficient mobility. Every Little Giant Ladder is installed with Tip and Glide wheels which allows you to move the ladder easily.

Industrial Ladders are a vital component of a smoothly running warehouse space. Not only do these ladders help with the efficiency of a facility they also add to the safety of the employees that are operating the warehouse. These types of ladders allow workers easy and quick access to any storage area that is at an elevated location like a pallet rack with several rack spaces can be around 8ft tall making it quite difficult to reach the top rack. Of course if you are storing heavy items a forklift or similar piece of machinery maybe needed, however if you are retrieving smaller items that are stored in an elevated area a industrial rolling ladder is probably the easiest and safest way to go.

When choosing an industrial ladder it is always best to think about the job that the ladder is supposed to do before acquiring one. There are several types available so the best course of action is to figure out what you need and pick the most appropriate ladder for the job. One of the more diverse ladders is a rolling ladder. Industrial Rolling ladders generally have 4 wheels which can be locked in to place to secure the ladder once its in the position you want it in. Also the ladder has a side rail for safety. The steps are usually constructed with a non slip surface or a grooved for an improved grip, making it safer for employees using the ladder. The beauty of this type of ladder is that once the job is done you can simply move it to a spot where it is out of the way and it can be used at many locations within a warehouse quite easily by just rolling it from location to location. This is much more convenient and safer then carrying a folding ladder around the warehouse.

Walkthrough style Industrial Ladders are another way to go, however the draw back to this type of ladder is that it is permanently fixed in one location and can not be moved at will. This type of application is usually used for roof access and when working in large structures with extremely high vertical spaces.

Step Ladders are another tool that is quite easy to use to get to hard to reach places. These ladders are not designed to be used for real high places but rather come in to play when things are stored at a slightly higher location then eye level. They are made to elevate you a few extra feet to allow you to reach items that maybe on a higher shelf then is conveniently reachable without a step ladder.

Telescoping ladders are another excellent and versatile way to go. This type of ladder allows you to lock it in to place at different levels as well as making them easy to store in places where you could not store a conventional ladder. Telescoping ladders are generally design to handle light to medium work loads. For heavy loads a walk through style or Rolling ladder are the correct way to go. Since those types are more geared towards heavier loads.

Worldwide statistics clearly shown that ladders are dangerous especially self supporting aluminum step ladders that provide a simple and economical means for gaining access to elevated objects. The inherent danger in the use of ladders has led to many countries legislating to improve the safety of such equipment.Platform ladders provide a standing platform that is positioned below the top of the ladder that allows the user to stand on the platform and use both hands to complete tasks. Whilst there are a number of sophisticated platform ladders that provide a high level of safety by the introduction of hand rails and safety rails they tend to be bulky structures that are not readily transportable. Tradesmen require a platform ladder that is readily transportable.

Every year thousands of Americans perform the common home cleaning ritual. Sometimes in the spring, sometimes in the fall and sometimes both. This ritual includes everything from basic cleaning to mending and replacing worn, broken or outdated items in, on and around the home. No matter what needs to be done there is a good chance a ladder will be needed. Aluminium ladder can be an expensive item to purchase. Here you will learn how to use them properly and, by doing so, extend the life of them.

Make sure the ladder is in good condition before using it. Read all the instructions for use and care before you use it. Read any warranty information and put the owner’s manual in a safe place.Use a ladder properly. Step stools and a-frame ladders should always be opened completely with the side pieces locked in place. Do not use a hammer or other object to force the side pieces into place as this can bend, twist or break the pieces. Always be sure the ladder is on a level, stable surface. Using one of these ladder supplier on an uneven or unstable surface can put unsafe pressure on the legs or side pieces of the ladder possibly causing damage to the integrity of the ladder.

Make sure the feet are flat on the surface you will be placing it on. If the ladder has ‘teeth’ or ‘claws’ on the feet, and you are using the ladder on grass or dirt, be sure both feet are turned so the teeth dig into the surface and both sets of teeth are digging in. No matter which ladder you are using, never bounce or jump on the rungs. Doing so can bend, twist, loosen or otherwise damage the rungs. Always climb with your feet securely on each rung to reduce chance of damage.Inspect the ladder for any damage when you are done using it. Check rungs for any damage and that they are securely attached. Look at the side pieces, paying close attention to where they are attached to the rails of the ladder. They should be straight and fastened securely to the rails. Look over the rails for any sign of damage or evidence of impact (where it was struck with an object). The rails should not have any defects, bends, dips or other damage.

Always put your ladder away where it belongs. Often times step stools can be folded together and stashed safely in a pantry, closet or other safe storage place. A-frame ladder manufacturer should be folded completely and either placed on ladder hooks or secured to the wall to prevent it from falling. Extension ladders should be fully lowered and secured with the lanyard. Hang the ladder from ladder hooks or lay it on its side along a wall. Never lay anything on the ladder as this can cause damage.

Aluminium, or aluminum ladders are the most common type of ladder used. The majority of ladders used throughout the world of manufactured from aluminium and the reasons for it are obvious:

Aluminium is one of the most common elements on earth and therefore is a cheap and sustainable material to manufacture from, but there is more to aluminium than just its cost, it has other qualities too.

Like most metals, aluminum/aluminium is fire resistant and strong but unlike steel and other metals it doesn’t rust and is incredibly light weight, which is ideal for a ladder, but there are other benefits of manufacturing ladders from aluminium too. It doesn’t crack and is very durable allowing them to be used for years.

Aluminium is also easy to manipulate and work with in manufacturing so it can be used to make almost any type of ladder from stepladders to extensions.

Types of Aluminium Ladder

Nearly all ladder types can be manufactured from aluminium. Because of its light weight benefits long extension ladders are nearly always aluminium but step-ladders too are rarely made from any other material.

Because of its versatility in manufacture and light weight nature, some ladders can’t be made from many other material making aluminium the only choice.

Aluminium ladder

Using Aluminium Ladders

As aluminium ladders are very strong and durable they are rugged too, but they should still be checked before use. They can get bent and they do have a weight tolerance so any load taken up a ladder should not exceed it. Always check the rungs are secure as this is often a commonplace for faults and make sure the ladder is not covered in spilled substances that could make you slip.

Buying aluminium ladders

There are many suppliers of ladder on the high streets but if you shop online you can often save money. With no store overheads, ladders from online suppliers are often cheaper.

When looking to buy an aluminium ladder you should be really clear in your mind as to what it is required for. There are a whole host of different types of ladder, some more suitable to tasks than others, so ensure you know the type of work you will be using it for.

Ladders are not only made from various materials but they also come with a multitude of accessories that further enhance its use, be it in safety and convenience. These ladder accessories are categorized into different types based on its specific purposes.

Ladder hooks and trays, ladder stays and stand-offs, ladder stabilizers and feet, ladder belts and collars, and ladder storage and clamps, are some of the ladder accessories that are commonly used to further enhance a ladder’s use.

Ladder hooks and trays are used to prevent tipping over of the buckets used during long hours of work and can save the use of both hands with tools and other work utensils needed while on the ladder which are always within reach without having to constantly root around pockets or climbing up and down. Examples of this kind of ladder accessories are the ladder bucket hook, hang-on tray and ladder paint tray.

Another type of ladder accessory are the ladder stays and stand-offs which are designed to keep the feet of the ladder from slipping out from underneath. It is usually built with rubber non-slip pad in the bottom which works best on surfaces such as hardwood floors, and smooth cement. Ladder stays and stand-offs help prevent sideways movement by not changing the angle of the ladder to the contact points creating amazing stability. Rubber suction feet, ladder stabilizers, and ladder mitts are some of the examples of this kind of accessory.

Somewhat similar but entirely different from the ladder accessory mentioned above, are the ladder stabilizers and feet. Although they share the same quality as that of ladder stays and stand-offs in providing stability, ladder stabilizers and feet have added features such that it is preferably used in soft or slippery grounds – such as wet grass, and even with multi-level surfaces – such as stairs. The adjustable safety foot prevents twisting and slipping. Examples of this kind of accessory are the ladder stopper, safety feet ground spike and the Telesteps safety foot.

Ladder belts and collars, on the other hand, are used to secure the top of the ladder to lighting columns, street furniture columns, traffic light columns and telegraph poles. These accessories are simply looped over ladder stiles to secure unsafe distancing of ladders from anchor points. Examples of ladder belts and collars are lighting collar, ladder belt and belting pole hoop.

The last of many types of ladder accessories are the ladder storage and clamps. These type of accessories are ideal deterrents to unauthorized climbing of site ladders. Supplied with a DANGER – KEEP OFF warning sticker attached, they can be quickly secured to the ladder for locking into position with a padlock that is fitted with common keys. Other ladder clamps are made of galvanized buckles for securing ladders when in use or during transportation. Ladder storages are ideal for stepladder and workbench storage giving valuable space within a garage, shed, basement or attic. Ladder guards, tension strap and roof rack ladder clamps are the most common ladder storage and clamps used.

Ladders have many uses, so to speak. Be even if it is used occasionally or as a part of work, these accessories not only make work easier and convenient, but more importantly, it provides a safe working environment not only for the user but to those around them as well.

Each an every year hundreds of people are hospitalised due to falls from ladders or when working at height often attempting even the simplest of task. Safety, therefore, is paramount when working at height, even when working at a relatively low one; even a small fall can lead to serious injury, especially if you land on your head or back where severe damage can be done.

Many accidents occur through improper use of a ladders, or people attempting to use a chair, stool or other object to work at height. However, ladders can be tricky to use, especially for the inexperienced, the elderly, or those not too steady on their feet, and it can be all too easy to over reach, not erect them properly, or topple off.

Fortunately, there are several different types of safety ladders and ladders to designed for ease of use that can help prevent falls and make working at height a lot safer.

Safety Ladders

Different types of ladder are marketed as safety ladders for both household and business use. Mobile safety ladders are commonly used in factories and warehouses. While these can be wheeled around, when used the castors can’t operate due to the weight on the ladder. They also have handrails and wide non-slip platforms instead of rungs to climb up and are more akin to mobile stairs than a ladder – obviously not practical in a home or smaller location.

For household use many step ladders are manufactured with handrails. Step ladders with handrails prevent the risk of toppling off the ladder when climbing or descending, a prime cause of accidents. Equally the handrails provide a place to hold when working up the ladder, reducing the risk of falling off as a you can always keep a hand on the ladder.

Safety ladders also have other features too. Non-slip feet prevent slipping on the ladder when it is being scaled, while wide platforms are used instead of rungs and have a wider base for stability.

Even when working at head height it can often be safer to use a small ladder that try to stretch, as injuries can easily occur if over-reaching, not to mention objects such as tools that could be dropped onto your head or other extremity. For this sort of work, two tread steps are a great tool as they have a very wide base, none slip feet and allow you to work at head, or above head height without the risk of over-stretching.

Ladders are like other tools in that they have specific uses for specific tasks. Just as you wouldn’t take a flat head screwdriver to a cross-headed screw – using a step ladder for a job that an extension ladder should be used for, is not only impractical but can be dangerous too!

Ask any tradesman and they’ll tell you the right tool should always be used for the right job – and the same applies to ladders; however, unlike other tools that can fit snugly into a toolbox or tool belt – ladders are large and cumbersome.

Often, it can be difficult to transport more than one type of ladder so tradesman have to often make a compromise or plan well-ahead; although, there can be times that however hard you have planned for a job, you cannot always foresee the tasks ahead and often you can be left with the wrong ladder.

Combination Ladders

While there is no such thing as a single ladder that can do all jobs, combination ladders combine some of the fundamental facets of other ladders making them an extremely flexible solution for when you are unsure of the type of ladder that may be required.

Some combination ladders can act as a leaning ladder enabling you to do tasks such as guttering our exterior wall work. Step-ladders so you can work indoors and even platforms, idea for ceiling work.

Difficult Areas

And combination ladders don’t stop there. Some combination ladders can be used in extremely difficult locations where other ladders simply couldn’t be used. Combination ladders can even be placed on stairs as their folding ability enables the ladder to be safely sited on separate steps – still providing a stable and safe ladder to climb.

Combination ladder

Combination ladders come in all sorts of guises and while there is no such thing as a single ladder for all tasks a combination is akin to a Swiss army knife of ladders – with multiple positions and uses they are ideal for the busy tradesperson who often finds themselves with the wrong ladder for the job. Because of this flexibility combination ladders are used by a whole host of trades.
